Rock Bass
64" Tall x 20" Wide x 54" Long
Base 72" x 20"
600 lbs
Artist’s Fun Fact:
Rock Bass is made with a steel rod body and steel plate fins. The eyes are fused glass. The body is filled with fist-sized river rock. Once the steel has rusted to a nice patina, I treat it with a coat of linseed oil. This treatment gives the steel a dark wet look and makes the rocks look polished.
At 54" long he’s an impressive fish. Rock Bass are real fish, not just the title of a sculpture made with rocks. On the stretch of a small river that I grew up on, it was the only fish I could catch that was big enough to eat. For me, it was the prize.
This sculpture is for sale and is available for lease.
